How to Find Reliable Online Piano Lessons
Learning to play piano as a beginner can be a challenge if you don’t find the right lessons, instructor, and instrument to play. Of course there are several other factors that will determine success for beginner piano learners. Perhaps the most important of all the factors that will make you succeed or fail even if everything else is perfect, is the type of piano lessons you are using. When I was learning to play piano, nobody told me anything about finding reliable piano lessons for beginners, I just thought lessons were lessons – more about that later. But the point I am trying to make is, you can find the best piano or keyboard instrument, best instructor, great learning atmosphere and still not succeed due to bad piano instructions.
My experience as a Beginner Piano player…
When I first started learning piano, I wanted to be able to play for my family and friends as well as at church. I started off by searching the internet for free online piano lessons for beginners, but it was probably not a good idea. It took me almost three months to realize that I was wasting my valuable time and not making any progress and that is when I decided to find something better. I spent several hours trying to find something that worked since I was determined to learn to play. During my search, I came up with a list of 4 online resources offering piano lessons for beginners. They all had great reputations and testimonials, but I had to try and see for myself. They all had few free lessons to try before subscribing.
It took me another three weeks to try the four online piano lessons resources, and finally decided on one that met my needs. Remember, I was a beginner, so I needed something really easy, motivating and fun to follow. In another four weeks I was able to play real songs both at home and church. I can now compose and play just about any song. I am also helping folks in our neighborhood and church who are interested as well.
With determination, positive attitude and believing in yourself, you can succeed!
During my ups and downs of learning piano, I realized that it is so easy to dwell on the negatives and lose your passion and dream not just for learning to play piano, but anything else in life. For me I never at one point let disappointments steal my dream of learning piano, instead they made me realize that sometimes in life we need a little help for us to keep moving in the right direction. My family and friends offered me that help. But, most importantly believing in myself is what made all the difference. It was determination that led me to the right online resources for beginner piano lessons that later fulfilled my dream.
I also realized that taking anything by face value can be deceiving sometimes. I wasted a lot of time trying to learn piano with lessons that were not meant for me, they were too advanced and not easy to follow though it was claimed to be for beginners. If you don’t know how to tell reliable piano lessons for beginners, you can ask regular people who have successfully learnt to play piano and they will point you in the right direction. For me I went the hard way by conducting the internet search which can be risky unless you know what you are looking for exactly. However, I still got approval from one of friend who is also an established pianist.
Caution: Don’t spend money on bad piano lessons!
Don’t spend money to enroll in online piano lessons until you are sure it is what you want, I lost hundreds of dollars when I was beginning piano lessons because nobody advised me accordingly. It is better to spend more time trying to find reliable piano lessons that will fulfill your dream than spend more money and quit due to frustrations in the middle of your course.
I am currently learning to play guitar using the same resource I used for my piano lessons and I am having much fun.
